Koi Fish Pond Setup in Bangalore, Karnataka
Construction of this mesmerizing Koi fish pond was completed by October 2018, with the Biofilter and pump room being commissioned in November 2018. On April 30th, 2019, after ensuring that the pH levels and other water parameters fell within the desired range, we introduced 120 high-quality Koi fish into the pond.
This pond has been meticulously designed and constructed to foster the secure growth of 160 to 200 Japanese Koi fish, each measuring 24 inches or more.
The construction of the pond spanned approximately seven weeks and utilized reinforced concrete with 8mm reinforcements, while the inner surface was finely plastered with cement.
The internal walls of the pond received a coating of epoxy with a subtle light green tint. For nocturnal allure, underwater lights were installed, ensuring the pond’s illumination even after dark.

Our Koi ponds come equipped with cutting-edge filtration systems to ensure longevity and pristine water quality, including:
- Multi Cyclone system with an easy drain system
- Biological bed filter
- Skimmer
- Air Diffusers
- Bottom drain with backwash
- UV water clarifier (680 watts)
With our filtration system continuously running, water parameters remain within the normal range, with a pH level consistently maintained between 7.5 and 8.5. The Biofiltration setup, coupled with UV treatment, operates round the clock, while mechanical systems only run for 12 hours a day to remove sediment and fish debris.
This efficient system significantly reduces power consumption, and cleaning the pond is a breeze, taking no more than 15 to 20 minutes. The pond’s mechanical filtration system boasts a high-capacity multi-cyclone system with aquabiome filter media.
Thanks to the multi-cyclone filter, backwashing frequency is drastically reduced, requiring only 2 to 5 liters of water for a thorough clean.
Koi fish ponds are not just about caring for your beloved Koi; they also offer a pristine and tranquil environment for our patrons. Seating arrangements are thoughtfully provided, allowing customers to unwind while admiring the graceful movements of Koi fish gliding through the water.
With outdoor seating surrounded by lush trees and a canopy of stars above, the experience at Whattay Kitchen & Brew is truly enchanting. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss this winter.
Koi fish ponds require regular care and maintenance, distinct from water gardens. Besides feeding your fish regularly, essential tasks include timely water testing, filter backwashing, and monitoring the emergency pumps for proper functionality.
Before introducing the initial 120 Indian breed Koi fishes, we strongly recommend quarantining new fish in a separate tank for 2 to 3 weeks. This precautionary measure significantly reduces the risk of infections and potential fatalities.
Always introduce only a few fish at a time. We initiated biological filtration using a pond starter kit of API and monitored the water quality closely, ensuring that all parameters remained within the normal range. Temperature readings consistently hovered between 20.5 to 23 degrees Celsius, day and night.
To maintain optimal oxygen levels, a high-pressure air compressor supplying 120 LPH ensures continuous aeration. Regular water quality checks enable early detection of any issues.
